Pump.fun, a meme coin launchpad on the Solana network, has teased exciting new developments after celebrating its most successful week to date. The platform, which has launched over 2.5 million Solana tokens since its January debut, hinted at a token launch and a potentially lucrative airdrop during a Twitter Spaces announcement, stirring excitement in the crypto community.
New Trading Terminal: Pump Advanced
During the announcement, Pump.fun unveiled its new trading terminal, Pump Advanced, which promises to rival other popular tools like Photon and Bull X. Built in-house, Pump Advanced boasts features such as mini charts, top holder stats, and social activity tracking, all in one view. The platform is optimised specifically for Pump.fun and will offer a 0% fee for the first month to attract traders. In addition, the terminal integrates a secure, non-custodial wallet login via Privy.
Airdrop Teased Amid Record Activity
Sapijiju, one of Pump.fun’s pseudonymous co-founders teased the possibility of an upcoming token and airdrop during the same event. While no specific timeline was given, Sapijiju suggested that the airdrop could be “a lot more lucrative than anyone else in the space.” The token, expected to be on the Solana network, has yet to be fully detailed, but the announcement has generated significant anticipation.
Record-Breaking Trading Volume and Meme Coin Trends
Last week, Pump.fun hit new milestones, including a record $1.1 billion in trading volume. The platform also broke its own record for daily token launches, with 31,600 tokens created in a single day. Initially, users were charged $7 worth of SOL to create a token, but in August, Pump.fun removed this fee and introduced a reward of 0.5 SOL ($80) for developers of successful tokens that hit specific market caps.
Throughout the year, Pump.fun has driven some of the most viral meme coins, including AI-conceived Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) and Moo Deng (MOODENG), further establishing its position in the meme coin space.
